Former Charlotte Amalie High School educator, principal, and namesake of the school's auditorium Ruth E. Thomas toured the new Addelita Cancryn Junior High School modular campus, temporarily housed on the CAHS athletic field.
Mrs. Thomas was escorted by Commissioner McCollum and Chief of Staff Anthony Thomas. She toured the new classrooms equipped with air-conditioned units, new furniture, and advanced educational technology. The former principal was also taken inside the Sprung cafeteria and was pleasantly surprised at its furnishings and large size.
Following the controversial decision to place temporary modular facilities on the CAHS athletic field, Thomas was invited by Commissioner McCollum to tour the finished product and new learning environment for the displaced Cacnryn family.
During the site visit, Mrs. Thomas also greeted Cancryn students and wished them a great and productive school year.
