K-6 STUDENTS, PARENTS INVITED TO BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT AT THE LIBRARY

ST. THOMAS, USVI – The Virgin Islands Department of Education, in conjunction with DPNR’s Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums invites students in grades K-6 and their parents to the first Back to School Night at the Library, slated for Saturday, August 20 on St. Thomas and Saturday, August 27 on St. Croix.

The FREE event is in support of the 8th Annual Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge, which challenges students in grades K-6 to read five or more books during the summer. The Challenge
began on June 8 and will conclude on September 23, 2016.

At Back to School Night at the Library, students will enjoy storytelling, story writing, arts and crafts, a movie and more! There will also be workshops and activities for parents attending the
event.

St. Thomas – Saturday, August 20, 2016
Turnbull Regional Library – Estate Tutu
3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

St. Croix – Saturday, August 27, 2016
Florence Williams Public Library - Christiansted
3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Students may wear pajamas or bring their favorite blanket to the fun event. Students must be accompanied by an adult to participate.
