Commissioner Sharon Ann McCollum is grateful for the hard work of the staff and management of the Department of Education. The teamwork displayed throughout the 2015-16 School Year in helping to transform the Virgin Islands public education system has been remarkable. To show her gratitude, Commissioner McCollum, through the generous support of local sponsors, held an End of School Year Employee Appreciation Luncheon on Friday, July 1 in both the St. Croix and St. Thomas-St. John districts. Employees in both districts were treated to a catered lunch, complete with tropical beverages and delicious desserts. Employees in the St. Thomas-St. John district also enjoyed games that brought out the kid in all of us. From Double Dutch (we see you Director Jacobs!), to musical chairs and other non-traditional outdoor games (the balloon sitting and popping one), a great time was had by all! The casual fun day and luncheon was a time for employees to celebrate the year's accomplishments and reconnect with each other.
Wishing the entire staff and management a Happy Summer!
