On Wednesday, May 4, 2016, schools on St. Croix participated in "Paint Your School Purple Color Clothes Day" where students and staff donned purple and donated $1 to support fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society. The successful district-wide event was made possible through a partnership with the Department of Education and the Senate Committee on Health, Hospitals and Human Services chaired by Senator Kurt Vialet.
