The Virgin Islands Department of Education State Office of Special Education (SOSE) announces the public presentation of the 11th Annual Parental Satisfaction Survey results. Acting State Director of Special Education, Ms. Kathleen Merchant informs the public that the survey results will be shared on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. The presentation will be conducted via Zoom, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. simultaneously for both the St. Croix District and the St. Thomas-St. John District.
The Parental Satisfaction Survey was conducted telephonically by the University of the Virgin Islands, Eastern Caribbean Center (ECC). The objective of the survey was to collect and accurately report trend data for the 2021-2022 school year in one of the 17 indicators of the State Performance Plan (SPP) and Annual Performance Report (APR).
Data collected from the survey will be utilized to identify and enhance services that lead to improving academic and functional outcomes for children and youth ages 3 to 21 years old with disabilities throughout the territory.
Parents and guardians of children receiving special education and related services, SOSE team members, the Virgin Islands Advisory Panel on Special Education (VIAPSE) members, District Offices of Special Education personnel, and other interested persons are encouraged to participate by utilizing the Zoom login information.
