Reopening of 2020-2021 School Year for Public School Students Delayed One Week

In keeping with Governor Albert Bryan Jr’s August 29 extension of the territory’s Stay-at-Home Order, the Virgin Islands Department of Education has delayed the start of public schools for one week, with classes beginning on Mon., Sept. 14, and not Tues., Sept. 8. All students will learn from home, as previously announced. 

Both School Districts 

St. Thomas-St. John District 

St. Croix District 

 

For more details on plans to reopen USVI public schools virtually, tune in to the Department’s weekly Facebook Live program, VIDE Community Connect, at 3:30 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 2. 

The Department of Education reminds the community to adhere to the governor’s Stay-at-Home Order, wear a mask or facial covering when in public, wash hands frequently, and practice social distancing.
