On Thursday, August 16, 2018 VIDE's Financial Control Officer Charlene Fahie, received her Certified Public Manager Certificate (CPM) from the University of the Virgin Islands.
A total of 21 government/private sector employees on St. Thomas and 25 government/private sector employees received their CPM.
The Virgin Islands Certified Public Manager Program is sponsored by the University of the Virgin Islands – Institute for Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness (ILOE) in collaboration with the Division of Personnel which falls under the Office of the Governor and is, nationally, accredited by the National Certified Public Manager Consortium. The program is approximately 12 months long and requires extensive study in selected competencies (Finance, Personnel, Organization Theory, etc.) at the graduate level. The work is, extremely challenging, yet fulfilling. Writing, project group work and discussions, and complete class participation, are major components of the programs. Based on readings from Dr. Haldane Davies, PH.D., VI CPM Program Facilitator and Vice-President for Business Development and Innovation at UVI, “those earning the Certified Public Manager designation are eligible to become a member of the American Academy of Certified Public Managers, a national professional organization supporting public managers.” Continued professional growth is very important.
The entire VIDE family and Business and Budget Affairs office congratulate Charlene, on this most auspicious achievement. Way to go Charlene!
