The St. Thomas - St. John District rhythmically welcomed the 2017-18 school year with a upbeat concert titled, "Relief on the Dock".
Students from the Bertha c. Boschulte Middle School (BCB), Charlotte Amalie High School (CAHS) and Ivanna Eudora Kean High School as well the the District's Music Educators (ME) serenaded the audience with music and song to ring in the school year. Concert-goers, largly schools supporters listened to selections from CAHS's Ripples on the Lake and Swans on the Lake, joint choirs and ensembles from the East and West schools, steel pan melodies, BCB's Flambo Combo, and Music Stylez.
The afternoon of music was hosted by Deputy Superintendent Racquel Berry-Benjamin who stated to the audience that the District's music department is "contributing to the wellbeing of your soul." The stress relief event was orchestrated to help the community decompress from life post "IrMaria".
Special thanks for the Territorial Director of Music Education Dionne Donadelle.
