Dinah Browne, the 2017 Virgin Islands State Teacher of the Year, recently visited Washington, D.C., and the White House as part of the annual recognition of the country's top teachers in the nation's capital. There, Ms. Browne connected with her peers from all across the country and attended activities hosted by CCSSO, which sponsors the State Teacher program. The group, comprised of teachers from all 50 states and U.S. territories, enjoyed the many sights and sounds Washington, D. C. has to offer, including a visit to the recently opened National Museum of African American History.
